The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) is an independent quasi-regulatory, quasi-judicial body dedicated to foster competition in all spheres of economy. In alignment with organizational requirements, CCP intends to seek the services of qualified individuals with hands-on experience for the post of Researcher and Senior Researcher as per the below details;
Researcher
Age limit: 28-38 years
No. of Position: 1
Qualification and Experience:
The candidate shall possess Bachelor's/Master's degree in Economics, Econometrics, Law, or Business related discipline from an HEC recognized local or foreign University.
This position mandates a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
He/She should have experience and expertise in market research principles, strong analytical skills, and experience in latest data gathering techniques with excellent English communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis softwares.
Familiarity with survey tools and statistical analysis applications will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities for this post entail;
a. Conduct primary and secondary research to collect data for market analysis
b. Analyze data and prepare reports using various tools, including Excel, SPSS, and other statistical software/applications.
c. Participate in the development of sector specific research methodologies and processes.
d. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze research data
e. Conduct background research to support the development of competition strategies and policies
f. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute research projects.
g. Addressing research inquiries and providing timely and insightful responses.
h. Proactively monitoring ongoing projects, identifying areas for improvement.
i. Assist in the preparation of presentations, and other documentation required for formal enquiries and regulatory hearings/proceedings.
j. Any other task assigned by the Competent Authority.
Senior Researcher
Age limit: 35-45 years

Qualification and Experience:
The ideal candidate shall possess Ms/MPhil degree, preferably a Ph.D. in Economics, Econometrics, Law, or Business related discipline from an HEC recognized local or foreign University., with minimum 3 years of experience in research. He/She must have an ability to carry out independent research. In addition to academic qualifications, the candidate should exhibit demonstrated leadership skills in managing and guiding research teams. Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration. The candidate should also showcase expertise in advanced research methodologies and data analysis. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a regulatory environment is highly valued. The candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks in Pakistan.
Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities for this post entail;
a. Design, conduct and analyse comprehensive studies and reports on competition-related matters.
b. Provide advice on economic and policy research to support the Commission's objectives.
c. Ability to analyse market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics across various sectors.
d. Analyze data on both micro and macroeconomic levels, providing insights for policy formulation.
e. Collaborate with internal departments, to provide data-driven research to support regulatory procedures and proceedings.
f. Engage with external stakeholders such as government bodies, international organizations, and academic institutions to facilitate research collaboration.
g. Oversee the preparation of academic research publications, policy briefs, and technical reports, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and clarity.
h. Manage and mentor a team of research analysts, providing guidance on methodology, data collection, and interpretation.
i. Assign research tasks to the research team based on the needs and requests from various departments of the Commission.
j. Any other task assigned by the Competent Authority.
General Terms & Conditions:
• The appointment will be made on contract basis, for a period of two (02) years further extendable, subject to satisfactory performance.
• The candidate possessing the requisite qualification, experience and age may apply. Only shortlisted candidates based on qualification and experience will be called for the interview and no TA/DA will be given to the candidates to appear in the test/interview.
• General age relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit would be granted as admissible under the rules.
