  • GF1602 - HEAVY EQUIPMENT DRIVER

  • Main Objectives

  • Responsible for loading/unloading of supply vessels and for physical hauling of material in a neat and orderly manner to facilitate easy and safe transportation in an effective manner

  • Main Duties

  • 1. Carry out physical lifting and transfer materials into and out of stores to the transporting vehicles.

  • 2. Under the supervision of the Store Supervisor, stock the material in an orderly and neat fashion to facilitate easy handling.

  • 3. The Heavy Equipment Driver is responsibility for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Heavy equipment may include trucks, front-end loader, dozers and forklifts.

  • 4. Transportation of material, with due care to ensure no damage in transit, and verifying the number of units, for dispatch to Outstations.

  • 5. Operation of heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.

  • 6. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks, clean heavy equipment as schedule or required.

  • 7. Practice workplace safety and ensure heavy equipment are safely and securely stored.

  • 8. Advise the Shipping & Receiving Controller of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.

  • 9. Ensure that the safety procedures are followed by themselves and others while handling the materials and whilst in the store.

  • 10. Assist in all manual work assignments within the Stores.

  • 11. Responsible to ensure that all equipment provided are handled with care and stored in good condition after use.

  • 12. Be prepared to do all aspects of work as required and assist in other areas to meet operational or exceptional circumstances.

  • Education & Experience

  • Heavy Vehicle Driving License

  • Must be experienced with first-rate skills in managing and maneuvering heavy vehicles.
