ACIAR funded research project (HORT/2020/129) on "Improving smallholder well- being through participation in modern value chains: Sustaining future growth in the Pakistan citrus industry".
It is a collaborative research project of the University of Queensland-Australia, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, University of Sargodha and Punjab Agriculture Department.
Social Mobilizer
Salary: Gross Pak Rs. 70,000/- + travel and daily allowance
Qualification:
Hold at least 16 years [BS, BSc. (Hons.) or equivalent) of education in Rural Sociology/Agricultural Extension/Agricultural Sciences (Preferably Horticulture or Environmental Sciences) /Rural Development and relevant disciplines
Experience:
Experience in rural development/community development for a minimum of 2 years will be preferred.
Other Requirements:
Be willing to frequently travel to villages (project sites).
Be willing to co-ordinate, support in report-writing and weekly/monthly meetings with Australian and local research teams
Willing to be stationed in Sargodha to conduct project field activities. Perform as focal person for project communication activities.
Be responsible for implementation of project plans at assigned sites.
Be able to communicate with farmers, and other Value Chains actors and project teams in Pakistan and Australia.
Note:
Initially the appointment will be made for six months and can be extended till the end of the project life.
Research Associate
Salary: Gross Pak Rs. 90,000/- + travel and daily allowance
Qualification:
Hold M.Phil/MSc. (Hons.) or equivalent degree in marketing/Agriculture/Horticulture/Plant pathology or relevant disciplines.
Experience:
Having marketing experience in agriculture for a minimum of 2-3 years will be preferred.
Other Requirements:
Co-ordinate and support project teams.
Willing to be stationed at Sargodha to conduct project activities.
Perform as focal person for project communication activities with other stakeholders of the project
Be responsible for implementation of project plans at assigned sites.
Be able to communicate with farmers, market actors project teams in Pakistan and Australia. • Initially the appointment will be made for six months and can be extended till the end of the project life
